Since 1942, 1.1 million of our brothers and sisters of Rohingya present in the Burmese State of Rakhine have been greatly suffering. Presently, an estimated 120,000 Rohingya are Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) living in shelters. 45 percent of households do not have reliable access to food.
A 2017 United Nations report documented mass gang-rape, killings including of babies and young children, brutal beatings, disappearances and other serious human rights violations upon the Rohingya Muslim population. “The devastating cruelty to which these Rohingya children have been subjected is unbearable – what kind of hatred could make a man stab a baby crying out for his mother’s milk,” said UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein. The report also cites consistent testimony indicating that hundreds of Rohingya houses, schools, markets, shops, madrasas and mosques were burned. Witnesses also described the destruction of food and food sources, including paddy fields, and the confiscation of livestock.
Heroic Hearts is on the ground in Rakhine State, Myanmar with access to internal displaced camps throughout the area. Our organization is focusing on food security and distributing emergency food boxes to individuals and families who are in desperate need.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If any Muslim clothes a Muslim when he is naked, Allah will clothe him with some green garments of Paradise; if any Muslim feeds a Muslim when he is hungry, Allah will feed him with some of the fruits of Paradise; and if any Muslim gives a Muslim drink when he is thirsty, Allah will give him some of the pure wine which is sealed to drink.
